SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to new types of PMMA based fine-cell foam, as well as to their production. Described is a method of producing polymer-acrylate foam material, characterized in that composition containing 0.01 to 2.0 wt % initiator, from 2 to 20 wt % of pore-forming agent, from 0.2 to 10 wt % of silicon oxide particles with diameter from 4 to 1000 nm and from 70 to 97.79 wt % of polymer-forming mixture, wherein said polymer-forming mixture consists of repeating MMA units and/or MMA in amount of not less than 75 mol %, at that, from 0 to 80 wt. % of polymer and/or oligomer can be present, is polymerised at temperature from 20 to 100 °C, and then foamed at temperature from 130 to 250 °C; the pore-forming agent comprising tert-butyl(meth)acrylate, isopropyl(meth)acrylate, tert-butanol, tert-butyl methyl ether, isopropanol and poly(tert-butyl(meth)acrylate), wherein isopropyl(meth)acrylate and/or tert-butyl(meth)acrylate are simultaneously part of said monomer composition and copolymerised completely or partially into polymers formed therefrom. Also described is foam material based on PMMA.
EFFECT: improved mechanical properties of polymetacrylate-based material.
