FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to surgery, and concerns treating AWS syndrome (axillary web syndrome) after surgical interventions in the axillary region, including after radical treatment of breast cancer. That is ensured by administering botulinum toxin type A into the axillary region. Introduction is performed in 20–30 units in three points: a thoracic wall contraction area, a region of a tendon transition to the inner surface of the shoulder and a middle of a tendon in the axillary cavity. 2 days after the injection, active gymnastics and an upper extremity extension are performed.
EFFECT: method provides reducing the length of rehabilitation and reducing pain syndrome by reducing scar changes and lymphatic vessel relaxation.
