SUBSTANCE: invention relates to neutron protection of central column of thermonuclear reactor of tokamak type. Neutron protection comprises electroconductive neutron absorbing material. Neutron protection is made so that electroconductive neutron absorbing material forms solenoid for initiation of plasma inside tokamak. There are also possible versions of neutron protection in the form of layers, segments, type and arrangement of elements from electrically insulating material, as well as their geometrical shape.

EFFECT: technical result is possibility of using neutron protection in conditions of compact spherical tokamaks at growth of neutron load.
