FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to expansion machines, namely, to turboexpanders which can be widely used in cryogenic systems and, especially, in helium and hydrogen plants. In turboexpander body there are two gas-dynamic sliding bearings, and turbine wheels are pneumatically connected in parallel. Turbine wheels, guide vanes and prechamber are made identical. Prechambers of end covers are connected by common header of compressed gas supply, and braking device is made in the form of high-speed electric generator. On the expander shaft the permanent magnets are installed diametrically opposite, and in the housing there is a winding made of superconductor. Turbine expander is mounted in a double-wall cryostat with screen-vacuum insulation. In the cryostat there is an ejector for cooldown of the winding to its operating temperature prior to starting the turbine expander. Expanded gas discharge pipeline is made from the internal volume of the cryostat and the compressed gas feed pipeline with two valves, one of which is connected to the compressed gas supply header into the prechamber, and the other one – to the ejector.
EFFECT: simpler design and higher reliability of turboexpander.
