FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in vehicle internal combustion engines. Method for engine consists in that during cold start, exhaust gases are directed first through three-component catalytic neutraliser (120), then through neutralizer (118) to body bottom, then through bypass channel (123) of waste gases with heat exchanger (122), and then through turbine (116). Heat is transferred from exhaust gases to coolant circulating through heat exchanger (122). Cylinder (30) and piston of engine (10) are heated due to heat of exhaust gases recovered in heat exchanger (122). Embodiment of the method for the engine and an engine system are disclosed.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of temperatures of walls and pistons of cylinders, as well as in acceleration of activation of catalyst due to heat of exhaust gases.
