SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the internal combustion engines fuel supply systems. Disclosed are methods and systems for an engine fuel system comprising two fuel feed pumps. One example of the method comprises switching off the first fuel feed pump or the second fuel feed pump if the level of fuel filling in the common tank falls below the threshold level of fullness, wherein the first feed fuel pump and the second fuel feed pump are located in the common tank and the fuel feed pump is cut out, the fuel depth of which is lower. By disconnection of one of two fuel feed pumps, said two fuel feed pumps can be protected against degradation due to lack of fuel.
EFFECT: invention discloses methods and a system for controlling a fuel system with two fuel feed pumps.
