FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: for production of insulating tape, which is used, in particular, in production of insulation for devices of medium and high voltage at use of vacuum-injection impregnation method and does not require use of usual curing agents, in particular, carboxylic anhydrides, invention suggests composition, which contains a) novolac resin obtained by condensation of substituted or unsubstituted phenol together with aldehyde, wherein novolac resin has a molecular weight in range of 250 to 1000 g/mol, and b) a catalyst selected from a group consisting of boron (III) halides and/or amine complexes thereof, imidazoles, acetylacetonates, tin (IV) chloride and/or tertiary amines and/or tetramethyl guanidine, and c) additional additives, if required.

EFFECT: invention relates to a composition for producing an insulating tape, wherein the composition is used to fix mica on the reinforcing layer.
