FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: method of exciting an electrophoretic display comprising a front electrode, a back-plane and a display medium comprising three sets of differently coloured particles, wherein display medium is located between front electrode and rear backplane. Besides, this invention relates to controllers for implementation of this method.
EFFECT: method involves applying a reset phase and a colour transition phase to the display such that the sum of all pulses results in an offset which maintains a DC balance on the display medium.
