FIELD: image data processing.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to technology for rendering colour images. Proposed is a method for rendering a colour image data set on a colour display apparatus. The display apparatus comprises a layer of an electrophoretic display material containing electrically charged particles in a fluid medium, capable of moving in the fluid medium when an electric field is applied to the fluid medium. The electrophoretic display material is therein located between a first and second electrodes, and at least one of the electrodes is light-transmitting. According to the method, the data set is converted in the following order: a de-gamma operation removing any power-law encoding of the colour image data. At the second stage of the method, HDR processing is executed. At the third stage of the method, the colour hue is corrected.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of image rendering.
