FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to continuous casting method, which includes output of molten steel from submersible sleeve outlet channels under the following conditions (A) and (B) and use of the electromagnetic stirring device (EMS) to create in the molten steel opposite flows in the direction of the long side on both edges of the long side in the area having depth providing thickness of the hardened shell from 5 to 10 mm, at least in the centre position in long side direction. (A) discharge continuation line from submersible cup outlet channel crosses molten steel surface in crystalliser at point P, and position of point P satisfies condition 0.15 ≤ M/W ≤ 0.45; and (B) 0 ≤ L-0.17Vi ≤ 350, where L is expressed in mm, and Vi is the outlet velocity (mm/s) of molten steel at the outlet.
EFFECT: as a result, reduced surface defects in cold-rolled steel sheet caused by gripping impurities by hardened shell.
