FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry and chemical engineering, specifically to coordination and synthetic chemistry of metal-organic coordination polymers, having sorption capacity, in particular to a method of producing microporous terephthalate of chromium (III), which can be used to create adsorbers for CO2, vapors of organic compounds (benzene) or separation of gas mixtures CO2/N2, CO2/CH4. Method of producing mesoporous terephthalate of chromium (III) involves steps of mixing terephthalic acid and salt of chromium (VI) in an aqueous medium with addition of sulfuric acid at the following quantitative composition of the reaction mixture, wt%: 5–15 % chromium salt, 7–17 % terephthalic acid, 2–8 % sulfuric acid, 0.5–2 % ethyl alcohol, the rest is water, the obtained mixture is thermostatically controlled at 200–220 °C for 4–8 hours, precipitate is separated and purified by successive treatment of DMF, heated to 50–70 °C, separating the residue and treating it with alcohol heated to 60–78 °C, separating the residue and drying it in air at 60–100 °C, followed by substance activation at 150–220 °C in vacuum for 3–6 hours.
EFFECT: synthesis enables to obtain mesoporous terephthalate of chromium (III) with high output of the product (up to 80–90 %), high specific surface area (more than 1,000 m2/g) and pore volume (above 0,4 ml/g), using a minimum amount of reagents and solvents and can be scaled for industrial production.
