FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal organic coordination polymers having sorption capacity, particularly to production of microporous zinc 2-methylimidazole, and can be used to create adsorbers for CO2, vapors of organic compounds (benzene) or separation of gas mixtures CO2/N2, CO2/CH4. Method of producing microporous zinc 2-methylimidazolate involves the following steps: dissolving in aqueous medium 1–1.5 % alkali and 4–6 % 2-methylimidozole, adding 2–4 % aqueous zinc salt solution and stirring for 0.5–5 hours at 15–30 °C. Then precipitate is extracted, it is cleaned by successive treatment with water and acetone with separation of solid substance at each stage and drying in air at 100–150 °C. Purified material is subjected to activation in dynamic vacuum below 10-3 bar for 1–6 hours at temperature 150–200 °C. Invention enables to obtain microporous 2-methylimidazolate of zinc with high output (up to 80–90 %), high specific surface area (more than 1,000 m2/g) and pore volume higher than 0.4 ml/g.

EFFECT: method is suitable for production of material on an industrial scale.
