FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to butyl rubber, a method for production and use thereof, halogenated butyl rubber, a composition for producing an inner shell of an automotive tire, an automotive tire chamber and a vulcanisation diaphragm, as well as a rubber product containing butyl rubber. Butyl rubber includes a structural unit derived from isobutylene, a structural link obtained from a conjugated diene, and a structural link obtained from styrene. At least a portion of the conjugated diene is isoprene. Portion of the structural link obtained from the conjugated diene is used as a grafting site, therefore part of the molecular chain of butyl rubber is a grafted chain, and the rest of the molecular chain of butyl rubber is a linear chain. Main chain of the graft chain includes a structural link obtained from a conjugated diene and a structural link obtained from styrene. Peak molecular weight of butyl rubber ranges from 0.9 million to 2 million. Content of butyl rubber ranges from 30 to 76 wt. %, log(MW) of which is in range between 6 and 7.5. Method of producing butyl rubber involves reacting isobutylene and isoprene with at least one grafting agent in at least one diluent in the presence of at least one Lewis acid and at least one compound capable of delivering protons under cationic polymerisation conditions. Grafting agent contains a polymerizable structural link obtained from a conjugated diene, and a styrene structural link obtained from styrene, wherein the conjugated diene is butadiene or isoprene. Proton acids are used as a compound capable of delivering protons. Halogenated butyl rubber includes said butyl rubber as a rubber matrix and an elementary halogen bonded to the rubber matrix. Composition for producing an inner shell of an automotive tire, an automotive tire chamber and a curing diaphragm comprises the above butyl rubber or halogenated butyl rubber, a vulcanising agent and, optionally, at least one auxiliary substance selected from vulcanisation accelerator, soot. Vulcanisation of said composition enables to obtain a rubber article.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain butyl rubber, having good properties with regard to processability and mixing, swelling degree during extrusion, good complex mechanical properties, in particular high tear strength, and also enables to obtain a rubber article having good dimensional stability and operational properties.
