FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a continuous hydroformylation method for forming an aldehyde product, comprising (a) removing a reaction fluid from a reactor; (b) directing reaction fluid into an evaporator; (c) separating the reaction fluid in the evaporator to obtain a liquid stream containing the catalyst and a gas-phase stream and (d) maintaining an average absolute partial pressure of the CO in the evaporator of more than 16 pounds per square inch (110 kPa), in which reaction fluid medium is obtained by contacting CO, H2, an olefin and a catalyst containing rhodium and an organophosphite ligand in a reaction zone under hydroformylation conditions to obtain an aldehyde product in a reaction fluid.
EFFECT: disclosed is a continuous hydroformylation method.
