FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: aerosol generating component (200) of an electrically-driven aerosol-generating system comprising: first and second electrical terminals (210, 215), first electrical component (220), wherein the first electrical component is an aerosol generator connected between the first and second electrical terminals, the second electrical component (320, 330, 340, 350, 360) connected between the first and second electrical terminals, first barrier component (300) connected between the first electrical component and the second electrical terminal and the second barrier component (310) connected between the second electrical component and the first electrical terminal, wherein second barrier component has asymmetric conductivity, adapted to prevent current flow through second electrical component, when current is supplied to terminals in first direction (A), but to provide current flow through second electrical component, when current is supplied to terminals in second direction (B), opposite to first direction, and wherein first barrier component has asymmetric conductivity, adapted to prevent current flow through first electrical component, when current is supplied to terminals in the second direction, but provision of current flow through the first electrical component when current is supplied to terminals in the first direction.

EFFECT: invention discloses a component for an electrically driven aerosol generating system which performs two functions.
