FIELD: glass industry.
SUBSTANCE: glass composition can contain (mol %): approximately 70–80 mol % SiO2; from 4 to 8 mol % alkali-earth oxide (MgO and CaO); 2–10, preferably 4–8, Al2O3; and 2–15 alkali oxide R2O, preferably Na2O in amount of 8–15 mol %. Ratio (mol %) of R2O:Al2O3 is greater than or equal to 1. Glass composition can contain no boron or a boron compound. Glass articles made from such a composition can be related to, at least, class S3 of acid resistance in accordance with DIN 12116, at least to A2 class of resistance to bases in accordance with ISO 695 and to type HGA1 of hydrolytic resistance in accordance with ISO 720.
EFFECT: versions of the invention implementation relate to chemically and mechanically resistant glass compositions and to glass articles made from them, which can be used for medicines packing.
