FIELD: physics; chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement of physical and chemical characteristics of gaseous media and a method of detecting contamination of atmosphere with toxic chemicals. Method includes using an infrared remote-action spectrometer and an automated meteorological complex. Viewing angle of the chemical survey device is 180 degrees. Information on wind direction, obtained using an automated meteorological system, is transmitted to an operator's automated workstation and simultaneously to a matching device, where it is processed and a signal is generated, which is directed to a repeated mechanism of the device for correction of the field of view taking into account change of wind direction.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of probability of timely detection of cloud of toxic chemicals.
