FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to resuscitation, infectious diseases, microbiology, and can be used for assessing the nearest prognosis of disease and correction of protein-energy deficiency in patients with inflammatory syndrome of bacterial genesis. Patient with inflammatory syndrome of bacterial genesis by indirect calorimetry is used to determine values of basic metabolism, respiratory coefficient, absolute and relative number of macronutrients, with determination of percentage of required protein calories, based on nitrogen level of daily urine, followed by assessment of the nearest disease prognosis by protein calories share in total calorie content and subsequent correction of protein-energy insufficiency. If the amount of protein calories corresponding to the calculated protein calorie requirement in the nutritional therapy is less than 23 %, patient has high risk of unfavourable outcome, protein-energy deficiency is corrected by selection of nutrient mixtures to achieve the required portion of protein calories of not less than 23 % of total calorie content. If the amount of protein calories corresponding to the calculated value of the need in protein calories from total calorie content in the nutritional therapy is more or equal to 23 %, but not more than 1.5 grams of protein/kg of body weight, patient has a low degree of risk of developing an unfavourable outcome, protein-energy deficiency is corrected by selecting nutrient mixtures containing protein calories in an amount corresponding to the calculated value of protein calorie needs.
EFFECT: method provides assessing the immediate prognosis of the disease in the patients with the inflammatory syndrome of bacterial genesis with subsequent correction of protein-energy deficiency by determining, by indirect calorimetry, the basal metabolic rate, respiratory coefficient, absolute and relative amount of macronutrients, with determination of percentage of required protein calories, based on nitrogen level of daily urine, since this percentage correlates with possible outcome of disease in patients.
