FIELD: glass industry; production of composite materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a composition for producing high-modulus fiber, which can be used for reinforcing resins and producing composite materials. Said composition is especially suitable for production in a bathroom furnace of high-modulus glass fiber with low degree of bubbling and contains the following components, wt %: 53–68 SiO2, 13–24.5 Al2O3, 0.1–8 Y2O3+La2O3, 0.05–1.7La2O3, more than 12 and less than or equal to 14 MgO, from more than 12 to 23 CaO+MgO+SrO, less than 2 Li2O+Na2O+K2O and less than 1.5 Fe2O3, at that the weight percentage ratio of Y2O3/(Y2O3+La2O3) is more than 0.5.
EFFECT: said composition provides a significant increase in the modulus of elasticity of glass, a substantial decrease in liquidus temperature and molding temperature of glass and other equal conditions provides a significant reduction in the rate of crystallisation and degree of glass bubbling.
