FIELD: glass fibre composition.
SUBSTANCE: present invention provides a glass fibre composition suitable for large-scale production of high modulus glass fibre, as well as glass fibre and a composite material based on it. The composition of high modulus glass fibre contains the following components in amounts expressed as a percentage by weight: 42-56.8 SiO2, 15.8-24 Al2O3, 9.2-18 MgO, 0.1-6.5 CaO, more than 8 but not more than 20 Y2O3, 0.01-4 TiO2, 0.01-1.5 Fe2O3, 0.01-1.5 Na2O, 0-1.5 K2O, 0-0.7 Li2O, 0-3 SrO and 0 -2.9, La2O3, where the total percentage by weight of the above components is 98% or more. The percentage by mass ratio of C1=Y2O3/CaO is more than 2.1, and the ratio of C3=Y2O3 /(Al2O3+MgO) is 0,31 or more.
EFFECT: composition significantly increases the modulus of elasticity of the glass fibre, significantly reduces the clarification temperature and the content of bubbles in the molten glass; it also improves the cooling characteristics of the fiberglass and reduces the crystallization rate.
