SUBSTANCE: invention provides a fiberglass composition, fiberglass and a composite material based on it. High performance fiberglass composition, characterized by the content of the following components, having a content expressed in percentages: SiO2 from 57.4 to 61.4%, Al2O3 from 17.5 to 20.5%, MgO from 10.3 to 14% , Y2O3 from 2.9 to 4.3%, CaO from 2 to 6.4%, Li2O + Na2O + K2O less than or equal to 1%, Li2O less than or equal to 0.75%, TiO2 less than 1.8%, Fe2O3 from 0.05 to 1.2%, CeO2 from 0.05 to 0.55%, wherein the total mass percentage of the components listed above is at least 98%, and the mass percentage C1=Al2O3/SiO2 is at least 0.293 and the mass percentage C2=(Al2O3+MgO+Li2O)/Y2O3 is greater than or equal to 6.5 and less than or equal to 10.4.
EFFECT: composition can significantly increase the strength and elastic modulus of glass, effectively reduce the crystallization rate of glass, provide the desired temperature range (ΔT) for fiber formation, and improve the clarification of molten glass, thus making it particularly suitable for making high performance glass fibers in furnaces with refractory lining.
