SUBSTANCE: proposed invention refers to medicine, namely to neurology, and concerns a neutron capture therapy system intended for removal of amyloid β-protein. This system includes an apparatus for neutron capture therapy and a compound which has a nuclide with a large cross section of thermal neutron capture and is able to specifically bind to the amyloid β-protein. Neutron capture device comprises a neutron source, a beam forming body and a collimator. Neutrons emitted by the neutron source pass through the beam forming body and slow down into a neutron beam with energy of a certain range. Neutron beam irradiates the compound, and the energy generated by its reaction is capable of destroying the structure of the amyloid β-protein.
EFFECT: system of neutron capture therapy provides delayed development of symptoms of Alzheimer's disease due to removal of amyloid β-protein with minimal damage of surrounding tissues.
