FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: surgical instrument comprises an elongated shaft assembly defining a shaft axis, a surgical end effector, a trigger element, central starting element of the launching rod, flexible start boom assembly and side bearing elements. Surgical end effector is functionally connected to the elongated shaft assembly by means of a hinged joint such that the surgical end effector is configured to selectively articulate relative to the elongated shaft assembly around an articulation axis which is transverse to the axis of the shaft. Firing member is movable for axial movement between the proximal end portion of said surgical end effector and the distal end portion of said surgical end effector. Central support element of the launching bar passes through the hinged joint and contains a distal end connected to the surgical end effector, and a proximal end attached to the unit of the elongated shaft. Flexible launching bar assembly is movable in the longitudinal direction and is configured to bend when passing through the hinged joint, and is configured for selective axial movement from the initial position to the end position within the surgical end effector to actuate said trigger element between said proximal end and said distal end of surgical end effector. Flexible launching bar assembly arranged to move in longitudinal direction comprises rod layers supported relative to each other such that at least one of the rod layers is movable on one lateral side of the central support member of the start rod and at least one other of the rod layers is movable on the other lateral side of the central support member of the launching bar. Side bearing elements correspond to the central support element of the launching bar and are supported on sections of at least one of the rod layers, made with possibility of movement on side side of central support element of launching rod, and at least another of rod layers, made with possibility of movement on other lateral side of central support element of launching rod.
EFFECT: inventions provide reduced range of branch movement, which provides improved arrangement of tissue.
