FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neurosurgery, and can be used in neurosurgical treatment of patients with complex skull defects combined with cicatricial changes of scalp. Proposed method comprises cutting and removal of screws. An arcuate skin incision is made 1 cm from the edge of the titanium plate. A titanium plate from the soft tissues is released through the incision; the screws are unscrewed in the projection of the incision. In the area of the edge of the titanium plate, which is covered with skin, skin punctures are made above the fixing screws, fixing screws are screwed out through the punctures and the titanium plate is removed through the pre-formed incision.
EFFECT: method provides removal of titanium plate in cicatricial changes of scalp with minimal injuries of skin graft, minimal risk of intraoperative complications in the form of haemorrhage, and also reduces the risks of such complications in the postoperative period, such as skin flap necrosis, inconsistency of sutures, fistula formation, suppuration of the postoperative wound, reduced length of wound healing and patient's hospitalization due to minimally invasive intervention.
