FIELD: image forming devices.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a user-replaceable monitoring unit (CRUM) mounted and dismounted from an image forming device consumable unit, and to an image forming apparatus using it, and in particular to a CRUM unit, which extracts energy from the timing signal, and to an image forming device using it. Group of inventions includes a user-replaceable monitoring unit (CRUM) and a consumable unit mounted on an image forming device. Monitoring unit (CRUM) replaced with user comprises energy extraction circuit configured to, when clocking signal is received from image forming device, to extract energy from high value of timing signal and save extracted energy in capacitive element and controller, configured to operate using the extracted energy, wherein the clock signal has a high value and a low value, which are periodically alternated in the data section with a first frequency, and high value and low value are periodically alternated in pause section with second frequency, which is different from first frequency, and controller is configured to transmit data signal, if high value and low value of clock signal are periodically alternated with first frequency.
EFFECT: technical result consists in determining of each unit replacement exact time, reducing power consumption, as well as CRUM unit size reducing.
