FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to dentistry, and can be used for imaging of mucous membrane involvement by autofluorescent stomatoscopy and staining for subsequent biopsy. 1 % solution of toluidine blue is applied on the damage element with a sterile cotton swab; the mouth is rinsed with water. That is followed by applying 1 % solution of acetic acid to the affected sterile cotton swab, re-rinsing the mouth with water to obtain coloured elements of the oral mucosa, and using stomatoscope, illuminating dental mucosa with the dental light switched off. Detecting pathological foci of oral mucosa due to increased intensity of their luminescence, which is associated with retention of dye of coloured elements in intercellular space of damaged cells in disturbed metabolic processes, affinity of toluidine blue to DNA, and/or sulphated mucopolysaccharides, and/or its connection with negatively charged mitochondrial membranes. Boundaries of pathological centres between them and intact tissue are visually determined, as well as their area for subsequent biopsy.

EFFECT: method provides imaging of the mucous membrane involvement in order to assess the area and separation of the pathological focus from healthy tissue for biopsy by staining with 1 % toluidine blue and autofluorescent stomatoscopy.
