FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical devices in which the Faraday magnetooptical effect is used to measure electric current. Device comprises a first fiber-optic guide, a parallel beam of light of diameter D and installed therein a first polariser, a glass quadrangular prism, a second polariser whose transmission plane makes an angle of ±45° with the plane of transmission of the first polariser, a lens and a second fiber-optic waveguide. Polarisers are glued to the prism and coated with a thin prism made from the same glass. First base of the quadrangular prism comprises two equal-sized planes, one of which is free from the mirror coating and perpendicular to the prism side faces, and other is coated with mirror coating and is inclined towards second base and makes with angle perpendicular plane γ=arctg[0.5(D+2 mm)/h]. Second base has exactly the same two surfaces, but both are coated with mirror coatings, the inclined surface is parallel to the inclined surface of the first base and is located opposite the plane of the first base, perpendicular to the side faces of the quadrangular prism.
EFFECT: invention increases sensitivity of measurements and their accuracy, prevents fogging during operation.
