FIELD: optical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical instrumentation, or rather to optical polarization devices that use the Faraday effect. The invention will be used in the power industry to measure alternating current in high-voltage networks of medium, high, ultra-high and ultra-high classes. The proposed dual-channel current meter for high-voltage networks contains a light source, the first fiber optic, a collimator, the first polarizer, a BP-180° prism mounted in the center of a solenoid with a network current and mounted on the upper flange of a hollow insulator, a second polarizer in the form of a Wollaston prism, a light-collecting lens in the focus of which the ends of two identical fiber fibers are installed transmitting light to two photodetectors. Photodetectors are connected to separate electronic channels containing differentiators, two-half-period rectifiers, smoothing filters. The outputs of these channels are connected to the first and second inputs of the microprocessor. In addition, each photodetector is connected to separate integrators, the outputs of which are connected, respectively, to the third and fourth inputs of the microprocessor.
EFFECT: present invention enables to increase the accuracy of current measurement in high-voltage networks in real weather conditions.
