FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention represents a recombinant strain of E.coli for enzymatic production of methionine, where in said recombinant strain expression of ygaZH genes, homologous to genes ygaZ and ygaH from Escherichia coli, is increased compared to the unmodified E.coli strain, provided that said recombinant strain does not have over expression of metH genes from E. coli and weakening expression of at least one gene among metN, metI or metQ, wherein said ygaZH-homologous genes are selected from a group of genes coding a pair of YgaZH-homologous genes defined in SEQ ID NO: 3 and SEQ ID NO: 4 from Citrobacter koseri, SEQ ID NO: 9 and SEQ ID NO: 10 from Enterobacter sp. (R4-368), SEQ ID NO: 17 and SEQ ID NO: 18 of Citrobacter youngae, SEQ ID NO: 19 and SEQ ID NO: 20 from Citrobacter freundii.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain methionine with high efficiency.
