FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices of actuators which use electroactive polymers. Active matrix array of actuators with electroactive polymer is provided, wherein each actuator with electroactive polymer has a switching unit. Switching unit contains first circuit (90) connected to the first output of the actuator with electroactive polymer for selective actuation of the first output of the actuator with the electroactive polymer to the state of grounding or its connection to the open circuit. Second circuit (92) is connected to the second output of the actuator with electroactive polymer for selective actuation of the second output of the actuator with the electroactive polymer to the state of grounding or its connection to the open circuit. Besides, step-up element (50) is constantly connected between the exciting voltage and the first output of the actuator with the electroactive polymer. By controlling both leads of the actuator with the electroactive polymer, static power consumption can be reduced at least when voltage on the actuator with electroactive polymer is not maintained.

EFFECT: technical result is providing an addressing scheme with an active matrix, which enables use of switching devices with relatively low voltage for activation of actuators with electroactive polymer relatively high voltage.
