FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: actuator contains an active matrix array of strings and columns based on an electroactive polymer, wherein each electroactive polymer actuator has a switching network. The switching network has a control transistor and a condenser system. The condenser system is charged to a voltage received from the control voltage of the electroactive polymer actuator combined with the voltage received from the threshold voltage of the control transistor. During this programming of the condenser system the electroactive polymer actuator is insulated from any flowing current. The switching network allows to compensate for aging-related changes in threshold voltage. Thus a transistor may be used with low operating characteristics measuring the threshold voltage of the current providing TFT once within the duration of each cycle (or once within the multiple cycle durations) to compensate for aging.

EFFECT: invention may be used in instrument manufacture wherever low movement of a component or element based on electric firing is required.
