FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: use: to create device based on electroactive polymer. Essence of the invention consists in the fact that the actuating device contains a grid with an active matrix, containing multiple rows and columns of actuators based on electroactive polymer, a set of data lines and a set of address lines, a corresponding switching device associated with each actuator based on the electroactive polymer, wherein the switching device comprises an input, which is connected to corresponding data line, gate, which is connected to corresponding address line, and output, which is connected to first lead of associated actuator based on electroactive polymer, wherein the second lead of each actuator based on the electroactive polymer is connected to the control line; and driver for supplying excitation signals, which contain at least first and second excitation levels for application on data line and third and fourth excitation levels for application on control line.
EFFECT: possibility of using relatively low-voltage commutation devices for actuation of relatively high-voltage actuators based on electroactive polymer.
