FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology and is intended for keratoplasty. A layer corneal flap is excised to deep stroma layers. A through opening with a diameter corresponding to the pupil diameter is formed at the bottom of the formed bed. A hydrogel disc with thickness of 50–70 mcm and a curvature radius of 6.8 mm is placed in the bed. After that, flap of own or donor cornea is placed on disc and fixed with interrupted sutures.
EFFECT: method enables preventing the corneal edema development, increasing cornea transparency in postoperative period with visual acuity increase.
