SUBSTANCE: invention relates to non-road transport equipment and can be used as wheelchair propulsor for overcoming stair flights of common use. Screw-type propulsor comprises a rotor with a screw flange provided with a rotation mechanism and a rotary head. Multiturn screw flanges are made of movable helical sector fragments with a thread on the inner part and a different level of contact relative to a common axis of central body positioning, arranged in channels equidistant from each other in angular relation, which are included in screw pair with central body – worm, which allows adjusting pitch between screw flanges having elastically pliable peripheral part.

EFFECT: extension of the screw propulsion unit functionality is achieved.
