FIELD: computer equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to obtaining images using automatic adjustment of the line of sight of a sensor associated with processing images, for example, for monitoring or recognition applications. Disclosed is a method of obtaining images of a given object on ground from a carrier, moving along a path and equipped with an optical sensor, having a line of sight, which comprises a step of obtaining a serial image of a capturing object by the sensor during movement of the carrier and a step for automatically adjusting the angular direction of the viewing line with the processing unit, connected to sensor. Production is carried out: for first position (P1) of carrier on its trajectory, with automatic control of angular direction of line of sight, enabling scanning of a given area of a survey area, said scanning by forward scanning, combined with scanning in "step-and-gaze" mode, wherein the first image band is obtained in the manner and by the fact that at least one other image band is obtained on the same area of the area as the first tape, at repetition of these stages of scanning for at least one other position of carrier on its trajectory. Each image from the other tape is obtained for part of the terrain strip, with overlapping ratio with image(s) from first tape for same part of terrain band exceeding preset high overlapping ratio, wherein overlapping images from one tape to another, obtained from the same part of the area, respectively, are obtained in the above manner during these repetitions along different directions of the line of sight. "Step-and-gaze" mode, which includes progressive micro-motions, called "steps", having amplitude, controlled by processing unit, comprises: at least one "step", called transverse pitch (5), with main component perpendicular to forward scanning, combined with at least one "step" (7), called longitudinal pitch, with main component parallel to forward scanning, as well as double-axis micromotion "gaze" to compensate for translational movement of the line of sight during acquisition of each image. Automatic control of angular direction of line of sight is performed by processing images on obtained images.

EFFECT: technical result is visualization with good angular resolution of large earth length from different viewpoints.
