FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of hardening of working tool blades for tillage of soil. Arc of reverse polarity arc between the electrode and the hardened surface is used to move the electrode along the hardened surface. Hardening is performed by pulsating arc. Hardened the cutting part of working elements made of high-strength cast iron VCh 60 of weight composition, %: C – 3.4; Si – 2.7; Mn – 0.7; Ni – 0.2; S – 0.015; P – 0.05; Cr – 0.1; Cu – 0.2; Fe – the rest. Electrode used is a tungsten electrode. Performing axial longitudinal oscillations of electrode with frequency of 3–5 Hz and moving it along hardened surface at rate of 0.4–1.5 cm/s. Time of each contact of tungsten electrode with hardened surface makes 0.08–0.09 s.
EFFECT: obtaining a given stable depth of the ledeburite layer with depth of 1_2–1_4 mm and increasing wear resistance of cutting blades of tillage tools from high-strength cast iron VCh 60.
