FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to thermal hardening of high carbon alloys by using arc discharge plasma between hardened surface and tungsten electrode and can be used in production of tool working tools for soil development. To obtain ledeburite layer with depth of 1.2–1.3 mm, increasing wear resistance of working tool blades of tillage tools from high-strength cast iron VCh 50 using arc discharge of reverse polarity between electrode and hardened surface with movement of electrode along hard surface by pulsating arc, wherein working tool blade made of high-strength cast iron VCh 50, tungsten electrode is used as electrode, which performs axial longitudinal oscillations with frequency of 4–8 Hz and moves along hardened surface at rate of 0.4–1.5 cm/s, wherein time of each contact of tungsten electrode with hardened surface is 0.08 s.
EFFECT: method of hardening of blades of working elements is proposed.
