FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of thermal hardening of high-carbon alloys and can be used for production of working tools of tools for soil development. To increase wear resistance of cutting elements of working members and obtain ledeburite layer of stable depth of 1.4–1.5 mm, hardening is performed with cutting part of working members made of high-strength cast iron VCh 50, wherein arc-reverse polarity plasma is used between electrode and hardened surface, wherein axial longitudinal oscillations of tungsten electrode with frequency of 4–8 Hz are carried out and moved along hardened surface at rate of 0.3–1.0 cm/s, wherein time of each contact of tungsten electrode with hardened surface is 0.1 s.
EFFECT: increased wear resistance of cutting parts of working elements.
