FIELD: measurement.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to detection of nonmagnetic materials and objects filled with highly flammable or explosive substances in solid, liquid or gaseous state in scrap metal fed in railway cars, as well as registration and control of unloading of metal scrap from railway cars. Proposed system comprises building to receive scrap metal with entrance and exit gates, bridge crane consisting of driver's cab, end beams and bridge with grab bucket installed thereon. Over the entry and exit gates of the scrap metal receiving building, video cameras are installed, and along the crane tracks of the scrap metal unloading control video camera. On overhead crane there installed is steam generator, outlet branch pipe of which is connected by reinforced hose to manifold secured on grab bucket housing and equipped with nozzles. On the bogie there is a vertically arranged telescopic guide with a mechanism for its extension, in the lower part of which there is a thermal imaging camera equipped with an automatic tracking system, wherein at the moment of scrap metal unloading, the thermal imaging camera changes the view angle when an obstacle is detected in the area between it and the grapple.

EFFECT: obtaining registration of arriving train and cars, as well as control of unloading of railway cars in automatic mode with realization of detection of percentage content of non-metallic inclusions in scrap metal.
