FIELD: separation or sorting of solid materials.

SUBSTANCE: proposed group of inventions relates to detection and rejection of scrap metal objects (ammunition, vessels, small containers, branch pipes, fire extinguishers, small gas cylinders, pneumatic suspension of cars, and so forth), filled with inflammable or explosive substances in solid, liquid or gaseous phases, and can be used in metal processing. Proposed method comprises identification by size and trajectory. Identification by trajectory is carried out in liquid and under action of electromagnet, identification by speed of immersion into liquid is added. All identifications are carried out in parallel and along neural networks, the output data of which are introduced into the neural network by object rejection. According to the second embodiment of the method, temperature change is additionally carried out under effect of a heated liquid. Line for rejection of scrap metal/solid/liquid/gas-filled objects includes in-series loaded loading conveyor, overload unit, sorting conveyor consisting of receiving and distributing units, hopper, dropper and detection device. Sorting conveyor is equipped with a reservoir filled with liquid, in which there is a receiving unit and an overload unit made in the form of a pyramidal shell immersed into the liquid of the tank to the height of an electromagnet and a detection device placed on it on mutually perpendicular sides. Pyramid shell ring is provided with cutout on receiving unit side. Identification device, dropper and hopper are arranged at distributing unit of sorting conveyor. According to the second embodiment of the line, the receiving unit and the overload unit are arranged in a reservoir filled with liquid, the temperature of which exceeds the metal scrap temperature by not less than 10 degrees, and the overload unit is made in the form of pyramidal shell with fixed on its three sides: electromagnet, detection device and thermal imager. Reservoir is equipped with an electric water heater.

EFFECT: technical result is higher efficiency of rejection of hard/liquid/gas-filled objects from scrap metal.
