FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to luminophore of green fluorescence (wave length 525 nm) converting incident short-wave radiation into visible light and used in displays and monitors for imaging ultraviolet, X-ray and electronic radiation. Nowadays, luminophore of green color of glow is used for creation of television sets, luminescent lamps, oscilloscopes, displays and plasma panels. Disclosed are a chemical compound zinc silicate, co-doped with manganese and magnesium, composition Zn1.93-xMnxMg0.07SiO4, where 0.08≤x≤0.2 and a method for production thereof, comprising obtaining an initial mixture of oxides of corresponding metals and silicon, taken in stoichiometric ratio, followed by roasting in three steps: I step – heating to temperature of 1,000–1,010 °C at rate of 50 °C/h and holding at this temperature for 10 hours, followed by cooling to room temperature; stage II – heating to temperature of 1,200–1,210 °C at rate of 50 °C/h and holding at this temperature for 10 hours, followed by cooling to room temperature; stage III – heating to temperature of 1,400–1,410 °C at rate of 50 °C/h and holding at this temperature for 10 hours, followed by cooling to room temperature, wherein prior to each step and after the third step the product was triturated thoroughly.
EFFECT: obtained compound of composition Zn1_93-xMnxMg0_07SiO4 has high luminous intensity in the green region of the spectrum due to purity of luminescence due to absence of additional "parasitic" luminescent peaks.
