FIELD: food industry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to meat processing industry, namely to an automatic method for estimating the amount of meat left on the scraped animal carcass. Method involves generating carcass image data and processing image data in a computer to calculate the amount of meat left on the carcass. Method can be implemented using an equation created by counting pixels on a region of interest of images of a plurality of reference scraped carcasses, from which thereafter scraps and weighs remaining meat, to obtain measurement points used to create an equation, which is then used to calculate the amount of meat left on the scraped carcass as it moves along the processing line.
EFFECT: enabling real-time fast and high-accuracy determination of the amount of meat left after carcass scraping without interrupting the processing process.
