DEVICES HAVING SYSTEM FOR REDUCING EFFECT OF VIEWING FROM CLOSE RANGE ON ONSET OF MYOPIA AND/OR PROGRESSING MYOPIA Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC G02B27/00

Abstract RU 2728798 C1

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention is aimed at a system which can be included in currently available electronic devices, such as laptops, cellular telephones and tablets, which help the user to maintain a viewing distance which is safe for eyes. Claimed system for reducing the effect of viewing at close range on at least the beginning of myopia and progressing myopia comprises an electronic display; range fin functionally connected to the electronic display and configured to determine the distance between the user and the electronic display; a display controller operatively coupled to the electronic display; and a microprocessor communicating with the range finder and the display controller and configured to coordinate their operation. Microprocessor is configured to automatically distort images and/or text on the display by the display controller by blurring or creating a mosaic in a format which is unreadable for the user. When the display is located at a distance from the user's eyes is less than a predetermined safe viewing distance, which is in range of 35.56 cm (14 inches) to 40.64 cm (16 inches) and automatic image recovery, when the display is located at a distance from the user's eyes equal to or greater than said predetermined distance.

EFFECT: technical result is creation of system for automatic establishment of safer viewing distances of electronic displays in order to avoid voltage at nearest point of vision.
