FIELD: data processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to flow control or congestion control of communication channels and can be used to meet quality of service (QoS) requirements when transmitting Poisson telecommunication IP traffic through a switching node experiencing overload. Method for early detection of the moment of occurrence of overload of Poisson's IP teletraffic consists in the fact that in real time using the sniffer program determining intensity of input stream of packets, detecting change in the Poisson distribution law intensity parameter, transmitting the overload information to the device providing quality of service, characterized by that by calculating the upper likeness of the general likelihood ratio and comparing the obtained value with the threshold set by the consumer, the moment of change of the intensity parameter of the Poisson law of distribution of probabilities, which indicates the beginning of overload, is detected as soon as possible.
EFFECT: technical result consists in early detection of moment of occurrence of overload of Poisson IP telecommunication for improvement of service quality of telecommunication traffic.
