METHOD FOR PREDICTING DEVELOPMENT OF DRY EYE SYNDROME FOLLOWING PHACOEMULSIFICATION OF AGE-RELATED CATARACT Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61B3/00 A61B5/00

Abstract RU 2728971 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and can be used for prediction of development of dry eye syndrome following phacoemulsification of age-related cataract. One day before phacoemulsification of age-related cataract using a Schirmer-1 test, tear production is determined. In 30 days after phacoemulsification of age-related cataract by method of optical coherent tomography thickness of epithelium of cornea is determined. Obtained indicators are substituted into formula where: e is base of natural logarithm, X1 is lacrimal product index, X4 is an index of thickness of epithelium of cornea in 30 days after operation. If f≥0.59, dry eye syndrome is predicted within 3 months after phacoemulsification of age-related cataract.

EFFECT: method provides predicting development of dry eye syndrome for 3 months after phacoemulsification of age-related cataract due to use of logistic regression method.
