FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to catheter units. Catheter assembly comprises: a needle sleeve with a needle attached thereto, wherein the needle comprises a profile change placed proximate the needle tip, a needle shaft, having side and needle diameter; a catheter sleeve having an inner cavity with a catheter tube attached thereto, wherein the needle extends through the catheter sleeve and the catheter tube such that the needle tip extends beyond the distal end of the catheter tube; needle protective device, located, at least partially, in the inner cavity of the catheter sleeve. Needle protector comprises: a non-metallic base portion comprising a wall having a channel, a proximal facing surface and a distally facing surface; first arm, comprising a first free end and a second arm having a second free end extending substantially axially in a distal direction from the base portion and having a tensioning member, installed on their outer side, wherein first free end passes second free end and comprises inclined end section, which extends towards second arm, and in contact with needle rod side. At that, the inclined end section has length and width, defining, at least partially, the space enclosing the needle tip, to hold the needle tip within the space enclosing the needle tip, in a secure position when the safety device deviates or rotates on the needle. Width of the inclined end section is greater than the width of the second free end, and is at least twice larger than the diameter of the needle for enclosing the needle within the space for enclosing the needle tip.

EFFECT: safe needle device and assembly are disclosed.
