FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medical equipment. Safety intravenous catheters described in the present document have a connection catheter assembly with a catheter tube, a needle with a needle seat and a needle safety device. The safety device is configured integrated, at least partially, inside an inner space of a catheter sleeve and retained therein by mechanical locking in between. After the needle is taken out of the catheter sleeve, the safety device is detached from the catheter sleeve and attached over a needle tip to protect the user against an accidental prick. The safety device comprises a tilted end section long and wide enough to keep the needle tip inside the tip hold-in space, behind the end section.
EFFECT: structural improvement.
