SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology, specifically to a method of extracting free and exosomal micro-RNA from saliva. Method for extracting free and exosomal micro-RNA from saliva involves sampling material with a cotton swab; preparation of material for prolonged storage; extraction of exosomes from the sample by sequential ultracentrifugation; extracting from the supernatant the stage of ultracentrifugation of free micro-RNA by column centrifugation and extraction of exosomal micro-RNA from the sediment of the ultracentrifugation stage by centrifugation on the columns.
EFFECT: method described above enables detecting saliva samples of free and exosomal micro-RNA, with the possibility of prolonged storage of a saliva sample at temperatures from -80 °C to +40 °C.
