FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method can be used in multi-position optical, thermal or passive radio vision systems for observation of small objects. Method consists in making n pairs (n≥2) mutually oriented receivers, determining, in each pair of unit vectors of directions to objects, selection of non-recurring versions of combining unit vectors into conjugate pairs by the conjugation criterion and estimates of distances and spatial coordinates of objects are calculated for selected versions. Mutual positions of unit vectors in objects in each pair are close to orthogonal. Operations over the unit vectors are carried out in a single coordinate system for all receivers. Coordinates obtained in all n pairs of receivers are clustered, and spatial coordinates of cluster centers are transmitted to track objects. If there is a failure in operation of a separate receiver in any pair, then the working receiver remaining in that pair is connected to another receiver of working pairs taking into account orthogonality of directions to objects, and form a new pair, and formation of new pairs is continued in case of new failures.
EFFECT: reducing computational costs while maintaining reliability and accuracy of operation of the passive vision system.
