FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to passive vision systems of the optical, infrared and millimeter wavelength ranges, designed to monitor small objects. Method for determining distances in passive vision systems consists in determining the unit vectors of direction vectors on the centers of objects in the image matrices of two mutually distant observers and choosing non-recurring pairs of orts set in correspondence with each other, according to the criterion of the minimum of the square of the Euclidean norm of the error vector of conjugation of orts with simultaneous calculation of estimates of distances to objects. Spatial coordinates of the objects are determined based on the obtained distance estimates.
EFFECT: determination of distances both in optical and in radio systems in the presence of several objects of observation.
